1. In Mithilanchal, Nitish’s ‘Change’ Palpable While Lalu Spells Fear

Three sari-clad women stepped confidently into the Shilpasangh Madhubani painting complex in Raanti village on the outskirts of Madhubani town, in what is known as Mithilanchal in these parts of Bihar.

But beyond their passionate pursuit of the Madhubani folk art, the 52 women who are part of Shilpasangh, which is funded and support by a Patna-based NGO, Jeevika, possess incisive political minds.

2. Modi Offers Credit, Partnership and Praise to Africa

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the India-Africa Summit in the national capital on Thursday. Speaking in the presence of 54 heads of state, Modi spoke about several issues and the bond that both parties share.

The Prime Minister praised Africa’s efforts to move towards mainstream innovation and cited areas where the continent was showing the world a way forward.

4. Anger and Shock on Twitter as IndiGo Bars Woman in ‘Short Dress’

A woman passenger was barred from taking an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to New Delhi on Monday for being ‘inappropriately dressed’. She missed her flight but was later accommodated in another one, only after she changed to trousers.

While the woman is a former IndiGo employee, her sister is a current employee of the airline.

Social media has reacted with anger and disbelief, in equal measure, to the airline’s move.

India’s first-ever World Cup winning captain and one of the best all-rounders to don an Indian jersey, Kapil Dev has opened up about another of Indian cricket’s biggest stars, Sachin Tendulkar.

“Don’t get me wrong, but I think Sachin didn’t do justice to his talent. I always thought he could have done much more than what he did,” Dev was quoted as saying by the Khaleej Times.

7. Why Zuckerberg’s Townhall Was Just a PR Exercise for Internet.org

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, was at IIT Delhi for his first ever Townhall Q&A in India.

But, Zuckerberg’s body language was very different to a year ago when he came to India to launch his pet project, Internet.org. He was cautious and chose his words after a lot of thought.
