Myra Vishwakarma, the little actress who played Pihu in Vinod Kapri's film, is also called Pihu at home. She is only six and already has several records in her kitty. She is reportedly the youngest actor to act solo in a feature film.

Myra was 29 months old when they started shooting for the film. In an interview to the Indian West, filmmaker Vinod Kapri said that the movie is directed by Myra! The director said her behavioural patterns decided the screenplay. So does that also make her the youngest director?

While dancing to the songs of the film Bakri ki Dulhaniya (as Myra calls it), she said her favourite actors are Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan.

Myra's mother Prerna Vishwakarma who also played her onscreen mother in the film said:

“The scene where Pihu locks herself in the fridge and the one where she hangs in the balcony were not scary to shoot. But the scene where she heats a roti on the gas stove was disturbing for everyone present on the set. Myra’s father Rohit Vishwakarma broke down after the scene was shot.”

The family had to shift to a new apartment for the entire duration of the shoot. This was done to create a favourable environment for Myra. Her mother told The Quint the shoot wasn't exhausting as one might feel while watching the movie. Everyone on the set including Vinod Kapri was conscious of Myra’s wellbeing.

Pihu is based on a true incident which happened in 2014, where a 4-year-old girl was left alone at home by the parents.

The movie is being criticised for using the child's drama as an exploitative device in the film. Some critics also complain about the length of the movie. But the general consensus is that the little protagonist is its saving grace.
