On Sunday morning, Akhilesh Yadav sacked uncle and state party president Shivpal Yadav and three other cabinet ministers from the Samajwadi Party. The decision was reached after a unanimous resolution at a legislature meeting convened at the party office.

The UP CM had convened a meeting of 175 of the 300-odd MLAs and MLCs to chart a new course in the ongoing family feud.
Last month, Akhilesh had the taken away Shivpal Yadav’s portfolios, but retained him in the council of ministers.
