PM Modi Meets Kenyan Prez Uhuru Kenyatta, Reforges Ties With MoUs

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta when he visited Kenya on the final leg of four-nation African tour. Seven MoUs to deepen cooperation in Defence, Security and avoidance of double taxation were signed.

India also gifted 30 ambulances to Kenyan army. Modi said that the multifaceted development partnership is the key pillar of India and Kenya’s bilateral relationship. He added

India is Kenya’s largest training partner and the second largest investor. Our priorities are more or less aligned. India is ready to share its experiences and expertise to assist in Kenya’s development objectives. 

Modi also addressed the common problem of terrorism faced by both nations. He said that India and Kenya have agreed to deepen security partnership in cyber security, combating drugs, heroin and human trafficking. He also elaborated on how India will become the regional medical hub in Kenya.
