Honeypreet Insan, the ‘adopted daughter’ of Gurmeet Ram Rahim, is finally in custody of the Haryana Police after being on the run for almost 40 days. She had been on the list of 43 persons 'wanted' by the Haryana Police in connection with the probe into the self-styled godman’s activities.
Convicted of raping two disciples,the Dera Sacha Sauda chief is currently serving a 20-year jail term. The Delhi High Court, on 26 September, dismissed the transit anticipatory bail plea of Honeypreet Insan.
After Honeypreet’s arrest, her ex-husband and father-in-law said she was lying in the interviews she gave to the two TV channels. Her ex-husband, Vishwas Gupta, said her tears are fake and should not be taken at face value.
