1. Paradise Papers: Amitabh, Jayant Sinha, Mallya Among Those Named
With 19 tax havens under their belt, Bermuda’s Appleby and Singapore’s Asiaciti have facilitated the “global rich and powerful”, including Indians, siphoning their money abroad, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists-led investigation of Paradise Papers revealed.
The data leak reportedly involves 714 Indian names, sourced through these two companies, taking India to the 19th position among 180 countries, reported the Indian Express.
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, tainted liquor baron Vijay Mallya, Civil Aviation Minister Jayant Sinha, are some of the names that appear in the records, revealed the Indian Express investigation.

4. Exclusive: Hemraj’s Family Thinks the Talwars are the Murderers
Hemraj Banjade’s son-in-law, Jeevan Sharma, spoke exclusively to The Quint on the Allahabad High Court judgment on the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case. The victim’s family, unhappy with the HC's acquittal of the Talwar couple in the murder case, want to pursue the case in the Supreme Court – but they can only do so if someone comes forward to take their case pro-bono, they said.
We were initially happy that CBI had punished the murderers of Aarushi and Hemraj and that they would be punished for it their whole lives, giving respite to the souls of Aarushi and Hemraj. But again, the court is saying that the doctor is not the murderer and they have been released from jail. Since then, the family has been in a state of shock and mourning. 5. Texas Church Attack: 26 Killed in State’s ‘Deadliest Shooting’
A man opened fire inside of a church in a small South Texas community on Sunday, killing at least 26 people and wounding others before being “taken down,” authorities said.
After the shooting, the gunman was fired on by a local resident with a rifle. The suspect dropped his assault weapon, and fled in his vehicle. Soon afterward, the suspect crashed his vehicle near the border of neighboring Guadalupe County and was found dead inside with a cache of weapons.
It was not immediately clear if the suspect killed himself or was hit when the resident fired at him outside the church, authorities said.
