Ahead of the upcoming legislative assembly elections in the state of Himachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bilaspur and laid the foundation stone for AIIMS and Indian Institution Informations Technology (IIIT) and also talked about launching a steel plant project in the area.

Referring to the opening of AIIMS as a boon, not just for the Himachal Pradesh residents but also for the tourism industry, he claimed that having an elite hospital with a functional trauma centre will give a sense of security to the tourists who frequent Himachal Pradesh since the hilly roads are also prone to accidents.

The hospital is expected to increase employment opportunities in the state as PM Modi claimed that the ‘state of the art’ hospital will have 3000 employees working at a time.

Often, in these mountains, we hear about unfortunate incidents like an entire bus falling down in the valley. So, AIIMS will become a lifeline for residents of Himachal and for the tourists who will now choose to visit.

Current State Govt is a ‘Zamanati Sarkar’: PM

Talking about his government’s Rs 15000 crore investment in the state, he took a swipe at the current Congress-led government for their internal issues that led to stalling of a Rs 70 crore project of a steel plant that he had recently approved.

He also called the current state government a ‘zamanati sarkar’, as many ministers have been accused of corruption and suggested that the BJP in its term had not had any corruption charges against them.

There was a time when the government was asked how much money did we lose, but now, Modiji is being asked, how much money did people gain?
