A day after Peoples Democratic Party (PDP() worker Ramzan Sheikh was shot dead by three militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, a mob burnt his house. His family, fortunately, was rescued by the police.
Sheikh was killed by militants in the Imam Sahib area. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Director General of Police SP Vaid tweeted that one of the militants, Shaukat, was also killed in a scuffle.
Sheikh’s brother said he was offering prayers when he heard firing. He said he rushed his brother to the hospital and said that he had not seen any militants. Sheikh was also a former sarpanch.
