Senior Congress leaders DK Shivakumar, Sanjay Nirupam and Milind Deora, who were camping outside the Mumbai hotel where rebel Karnataka MLAs are lodged, have been detained by Mumbai Police.

2. India Out of World Cup Race

He came, he put on a show, but Ravindra Jadeja failed to conquer as India crashed out of the World Cup after losing to New Zealand by 18 runs in the semi-final at the Old Trafford on Wednesday, 10 July.

On a wicket tailor-made for the bowlers, Jadeja did play a blinder (77 off 59 balls, 4x4. 6x4). But it was too late in the day as the top-order collapse came to haunt India at the end. Needing 52 off the last five overs, Jadeja looked to be guiding India home under the tutelage of former skipper MS Dhoni, but Trent Boult had the last laugh as he dismissed Jadeja in the 48th over to bring New Zealand right back into the game.

4. Exasperated, Amrapali Buyers Forced to Live in Incomplete Flats

The Amrapali Zodiac society, located in Noida’s sector 120, looks like yet another high-rise that came into existence a decade ago from a distance away.

Except that the sprawling campus is home to buyers who never got a fully built flat despite paying almost 90 percent of the property’s worth.

Akhilesh Verma, an IT professional, did the unthinkable in June 2019. After booking a flat in Amrapali Zodiac’s tower A, Akhilesh waited for eight years, hoping that construction work will be over soon.

But when the builder dithered on his promise, Akhilesh decided to move in with his family, in a move that might be considered as ‘forced entry’.

“I did not have any other option,” says Akhilesh as he shows the video of the ‘grih pravesh’ puja (home coming) in his laptop.
