In a shocking video, a priest in Vrindavan was thrashed by followers and villagers for allegedly sexually exploiting two girls, on 27 December. The accused was stripped and then thrashed with sticks by girls, while another man held him by his hair.

Vasudeva Shastri, the priest brought the two girls from Maharashtra under the pretext of teaching them Bhagwat Katha, but allegedly began sexually exploiting them. The two girls were living in a Nepali colony for three months now.

Vasudeva came to Vrindavan with the girls after he told their parents that he would teach them the Bhagavat katha. They have been living in a Nepali colony for the last three months. The girls told me that they were not allowed to go anywhere. They were not even allowed to talk to their parents. If ever they talked to them, it was in the priest’s presence. One of the girls alleged that she was molested. A video clip was made and some photographs were also taken. Due to this, they couldn’t tell anyone about the incident.
