Another case of cruelty against a woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Behrin village has been registered. A man poured acid on his wife’s genitals after she refused to have sexual intercourse with him. The woman is in serious condition and has been hospitalised.
The couple was allegedly having a tiff on some issue when the husband flew into a rage and thrashed her. According to the victim, he forced her to have sex with him and she refused. Following that, he poured a chemical on her genitals, which led to a severe injury.
The woman was taken to the hospital after the neighbours informed her family. She is undergoing treatment at the facility.
According to the police officer-in-charge, the chemical thrown on the victim is still unknown and the medical officer is investigating into it.
A case has been registered against the accused and three other people, and investigation is underway, said the victim's father's in his statement.
The victim has been married to the accused for the past six years. They have two children.
