Bharatiya Janata Party councillor, Hasmukh Patel, has alleged that he was tied to a tree and thrashed by a mob of slum-dwellers, who were protesting their eviction from an illegal encroachment in Gujarat’s Vadodara on Wednesday, 4 October.
Hasmukh was rescued by police and rushed to a nearby hospital. Over 30 people have been arrested in connection with the case.
