In yet another case of medical negligence, a woman in Madhya Pradesh’s Dindori gave birth to a live baby boy in an open field, after her unborn baby was declared dead by the staff of a local government hospital.
The mother and her relatives were walking back home, when the she felt a stinging pain and thereafter delivered the baby. She accuses the nurses at the hospital of thrashing her before turning her away.
They told us the baby had excreted in the womb and water from her fetus had drained. The baby, they claimed, had died in the womb.Relative
Women formed a fence around the mother and assisted her in the delivery. Even locals dropped by and provided blades, which were used to cut the umbilical cord.
Meanwhile, Dindori CMO RK Mehra told ANI that action would be taken against those responsible.

Earlier this month, a woman in Odisha’s Koraput had given birth to a baby next to a drain, after hospital authorities turned her away for “lack of documents.”
The tribal woman, identified as Daina Muduli, and the newborn, remained near the drain for hours before being shifted to the hospital.
However, the authorities at Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital denied all allegations while adding that they had acted the moment the case was brought to their attention.
The 30-year-old woman had come to the hospital with her mother, to meet her ailing husband, who had been suffering from fever.
Recently, the license of Max Hospital in Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh was cancelled after the private healthcare facility wrongfully declared a newborn dead.
