Drug Traffickers Smuggle Cocaine in Artificial Bananas

The Spanish police discovered 17 kgs (37.4 pounds) of cocaine in a shipment of fake bananas during an operation in the coastal cities of Malaga and Valencia, on Sunday. Footage of the haul was shot in Valencia.

Some 57 artificial bananas, carrying 7 kgs (15.4 pounds) cocaine, were found among the real bananas. Another 10 kgs (22 pounds) of cocaine were reportedly hidden inside the cardboard boxes that carried the bananas.

Following the operation, two people were detained on charges of drug trafficking. According to the police, another is presently under investigation.
