The Libyan Red Crescent recovered bodies of at least 24 migrants, who lost their lives attempting to cross the Mediterranean in a bid to reach Europe, off the Tripoli coast, some 14 kilometres (8,69 miles) east of Tripoli.
In 2016, the 470-kilometre (292-mile) sea crossing claimed an average of 13 lives everyday, with many more unreported.
