Film: Money Monster
Cast: George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Jack O’Connell
Director: Jodie Foster

George Clooney plays Lee Gates, a popular business show host and a stock specialist who tells people what stocks to buy what not to buy on a show called Money Monster. Lee is not just another boring business anchor, he is quite cool. Before he gets to business, you see him break into a dance with women around him. His unique and energetic way has made him one of the most popular faces on business television. One day Lee’s tip goes wrong and one of his viewers Kyle (Jack O’Connell) loses all his savings, Kyle barges into Lee’s studio and puts a gun on his head and instructs his studio director (Julia Roberts) to stay Live on-air. The film then follows a racket of money swindlers and all this plays live on television.

The drama is fun and it’s quite unusual. Jodie Foster has directed this very well, she creates drama and being an actor herself, she gets fantastic performances from all her actors. George Clooney gives yet another brilliant performance, Julia Roberts performs with a lot of grace and sincerity and Jack O’Connell plays his part well. It’s because of some creative liberties that at times the film becomes unpredictable and unrealistic.

Watch it for sure for the wonderful performances and an unusual drama, now when was the last time someone held a news anchor at gunpoint?
