Motocross Bikers Stun Mumbaikars at FMX Jam
Why would you limit yourself to a typical handstand, if you could fly across the air and do it on a bike?
Mumbaikars witnessed, for the very first time, the world renowned freestyle motocross athletes Robbie Maddison, Alexey Kolesnikov and Tom Pages along with Martin Koren, Radek Bilek & Julien Vanstippen showcase their high octane biking skills at Red Bull FMX Jam at the iconic Gateway of India.
FMX or Freestyle Motocross is a variation on the sport of motocross where the motorcycle riders enthrall the audience and judges with jumps and stunts.
These stunts were performed in three rounds, with each round getting riskier and difficult to accomplish. The riders gave their best, handling every level efficiently.
This event previously took place in the national capital during the year 2012, leaving all the Delhiites awestruck and amazed.
The event in Mumbai witnessed a turnout of approximately 8000 people this year.
Robbie ‘Maddo’ Maddison, one of the six performers who is known for being the stunt double for Vin Diesel in xXx: Return of Xander Cage, Daniel Craig in Skyfall and Tom Hardy inVenom was also present at the event that was held in Mumbai, and left the audience stunned. The Australian stuntman enraptured the Indian audience with his acrobatics.
“As a motocross rider who has been doing this for fifteen years, I have had my fair share of injuries and near fatal accidents. But nothing has ever stopped me from doing this. I will continue to ride. It was exciting to see so many fans in Mumbai and perform for the enthusiastic crowd at the Red Bull FMX Jam along with all the other amazing athletes.”Robbie Maddison
Redbull was responsible for organising and making the event a grand success. The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) aims to position Maharashtra as an emerging destination for hosting various national and international events such as these.
