It all started with what everyone thought was a harmless tweet.
Modi tweeted one of his first selfies even before he was became prime minister. His selfie, posted on Twitter right after he cast his vote, caused a bit of a scandal. It showed the BJP logo, probably breaking election laws. However, there was no stopping this selfie-obsessed man.

The Wall Street Journal said the photo may well be “the most powerful selfie in history”.
So much so that selfies have been part of his political campaigning. He launched the “Selfie with Modi” campaign ahead of the Delhi State Assembly Elections.
1,000 selfie booths were set up in shopping malls and parking lots. Delhi voters thronged the booths in thousands, but the selfies did not translate into votes.
