Meet India’s Very Own Rapunzel

An Indian teenager has said goodbye to scissors in the hope of growing the world’s longest hair and making it to the Guinness Book of World Records.

Nineteen-year-old Priya Chaudhary is about five-feet tall but her hair has outgrown her and measures 6.5 feet. Priya, who is no less than a celebrity in her village Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh, says “People call me Rapunzel. I am often stopped and asked what I do to maintain it. I feel blessed.”

She credits her mother who has never missed a single day of oiling Priya’s hair.
