A farmer had to use a huge crane to rescue one of his buffalo - after it became stuck on the roof of a building. The bizarre incident - which occurred in the Indian city of Udaipur - saw the cow walk into the house and up the stairs, before become stranded on a roof terrace.
The buffalo’s owner, Amba Lal, 46, tried in vain to usher the cow back downstairs to the field, but to no avail. An increasingly desperate Lal then resorted to calling the municipality, who drafted in a heavy-duty crane to pluck the stubborn animal form the terrace.
By the time crane arrived, a huge crowd had gathered to watch, with many locals filming the action and sharing it on Indian social media. The entire episode went on for more than three hours. The buffalo was taken to an animal care centre to see if it had any injuries or mental trauma but vets said it was fine and released it back to its owner.
