Security forces gunned down one more militant in Poonch district, in Kashmir, on Monday, in an ongoing security operation, raising the total number of ultras killed to four.

A policeman and an army jawan suffered minor injured on Monday night as the encounter between terrorists holed up in the under-construction Mini Secretariat in Poonch and security forces entered the second night even after three militants were killed since Sunday.

Director General of Police, Rajendra Kumar believes that one or two militants were still hiding in the premises and they continued to fire.

On Sunday, three militants and a policeman were killed, while six others, which includes a police officer, were injured in twin encounters between security forces and four terrorists in Poonch town.

The cop was cremated on Monday in Poonch town.

Security forces were engaged in day-long twin encounters with four terrorists holed up at two places near the under-construction Mini Secretariat in Poonch since Sunday morning.

The fire fight broke out near the Mini Secretariat building which is close to Army’s 93 Brigade headquarters, Poonch district and a house in Allahpir Mohalla in the town around 7.30 am on Sunday.
