Musicians work almost all their life to make their cut in mainstream Bollywood music but here we have a super talented Benny Dayal who has made his mark in the industry and has gone back to where he started from.

Benny Dayal has made a name and niche for himself in Bollywood in a pretty short time. The Kerala born musician was one of the leading playback singers in the industry at least two years ago. Benny rose to fame with chartbusters like ‘Pappu Can’t Dance Saala’ (Jaane tu Ya Jaane Na) , ‘Tu Hi Meri Dost Hai’ (Yuvvraaj) and ‘Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gayee’ (Ghajini). He’s AR Rahman’s blue-eyed boy and a unique voice that’s hard to find.

Now Benny has shifted from singing Bollywood songs to going back to his beginnings in Tamil music.

I started singing in Tamil first and my whole band is from Chennai. I have stayed in Chennai for almost a decade. In 2016 we started writing in Hindi, Tamil and English. Then we realised that Tamil is the way to go. Our first single ‘Oora Paaru’ will be out on the 30th of this month.

Benny played a 90 minute set at the Red Bull Music concert consisting of some of the singer’s most popular Bollywood and indie songs. His prowess in the Bollywood music industry as well as in the independent music circuit has earned Benny fans across the country and the world, as was demonstrated in Kochi on 24th November.
