First, it took me at least two minutes to just adjust Sidharth Malhotra (height: 6ft) and Rakul Preet Singh (height: 5.7ft + 6 inches heels) in one frame with me. The only solution was the chair. We worked really hard to get the perfect frame and when we did, we played the Who is More Likely quiz. While Sidharth told us about his dietary habits, Rakul Preet, who is a popular star down south, told us about the work culture in the film industry there - something that left us surprised for sure.
Revolving around a rogue officer (Sidharth Malhotra), who seems to be involved in the illegal sale of arms, and his senior officer (Manoj Bajpayee) giving him chase, Aiyaary revolves around corruption in the Indian Army. It has a stellar supporting cast led by Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain and Vikram Gokhale as well. Rakul Preet Singh plays Sidharth Malhotra's love interest in the film.
Aiyaary, which has a patriotic vibe, was originally slated for release on January 25 to make the most of the long Republic Day weekend. It was clashing with PadMan. But after Padmaavat got a final release date of January 25, the makers of Aiyaary moved its release to first 9 February and then again to 16 February.
Aiyaary is yet to receive a censor certificate. According to reports, since the movie is set against the army backdrop, the Defense Ministry wants to review the film. Hope it turns out ok for the team. Till then, watch this video.
