Karuna, a 21-year-old woman, was brutally killed by her stalker, in North Delhi’s Burari on Tuesday morning, after she was stabbed multiple times.

The accused, Surendar Singh, 34, attacked Karuna and stabbed her 22 times – all in broad daylight in the presence of several onlookers.

As the assailant continued to inflict wounds on the victim, people stood by and watched. Nobody came forward to help the victim, though the crowds later chased and nabbed the accused before handing him over to police.

The victim was later rushed to Sushruta Trauma Centre (ISBT), where she was declared brought dead.

The CCTV camera captured the gruesome and frenzied attack.

Singh had been stalking Karuna for over a year, prompting her family to lodge a complaint against him four-five months ago, according to the DCP. However, their families had reached a compromise, he said.
