NDA picked ex- Bihar Governor, Ram Nath Kovind as their Presidential Candidate for the coming Presidential elections.
The Quint decided to visit NDA Presidential candidate Ram Nath’s hometown – Paraukhan village in UP.
Fifteen km away from the Kanpur highway, Paraukhan village has become a point of interest for almost everyone. A remote and quiet village, it now buzzes with car honks and officials taking rounds in and out every day.
Before taking the chair as Bihar’s Governor, Ram Nath Kovind served as Rajya Sabha MP from 1994-2014. During his tenure Kovind used the MP Fund to setup bank, tube well and other facilities in the village.
The opposition has fielded Meira Kumar as their Presidential candidate, although the numbers are in Kovind’s favour.
