Underfunded and under-appreciated, Aizawl FC defied all odds to win the I-league title on Sunday and enter Indian footballs’ record books for becoming the first Northeastern club to do so.
From losing to Mohun Bagan 2-3 on 4 February to beating them 1-0 two months later on 22 April, Aizawl came a long way in this season.
