Another Diwali, another massive spike in pollution. The Quint is republishing this video from last year. Clearly, not a lot has changed.
Delhi’s pollution level has risen 23 times since Diwali, this year. The air quality suffered huge deterioration even after mass campaigns were run against crackers and pollution. The Quint also launched a campaigned against crackers under the hashtag #PatakhaHayeHaye.
According to the World Quality Index the air on November 11, 2015 at 10 pm, was measured at 547. Beijing’s average hovers somewhere around 190. Delhi and Beijing often exchange the unenviable position of the most polluted cities in the world. The morning after Diwali saw air quality levels at 509 for Anand Vihar.
It’s time to prevent further depletion if Delhi’s air quality. It’s time at least now, to say Patakha Haye Haye.
