Fouzia Azeem, better known as Qandeel Baloch, lived a turbulent and short life. The Pakistani model-turned-social-media-star was a victim of honour killing in July last year, with the main accused being her own brother.
And now a Pakistani channel is planning to explore new territory with the highlight on honour killings in the country through the life and eventual murder of Qandeel. The drama, titled Baaghi, will star Saba Qamar (of Hindi Medium fame) in Baloch’s role.
Baaghi would reportedly explore Qandeel’s journey to social media stardom. It will also delve into her dysfunctional marriage and experiences in poverty and social injustice. Check out the teasers - they promise an insightful journey into Fouzia Azeem’s journey to becoming Qandeel Baloch.
There is no release date for Baaghi yet, but a step towards keeping Qandeel’s memory alive is huge for sure.
