The last edition of Honda Accord never made it to India, but their hybrid version of the premium sedan wants to make a difference in the country.

Priced at Rs 37 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), the Honda Accord Hybrid enters an eco-friendly segment that’s currently served by Toyota (Prius) and Maruti Suzuki to some extent. The Accord Hybrid will be a completely built-up (CBU) unit, which means that Honda has to work in line with the excise norms in the country, adding to the cost of this four-wheeler hybrid.

This sedan has even got a sunroof that for some reason has been missing on the Tata Hexa SUV. Talking about what powers the Honda Accord Hybrid, you get a 2-litre petrol motor along with a 2 motor hybrid system with 1.35kW rating.

This combination manages to deliver 215PS of power, and as per the company, ARAI certified fuel economy of 23.1 kmpl. At this price point, the Accord Hybrid competes with Skoda Superb and Toyota Camry in the Indian market.

The sedan offers multiple driving modes: EV, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive. The company highlighted that in the Hybrid mode, the car is running at a speed that you get while driving in the 6th gear, generally.

The sedan has also been upgraded in terms of its design aesthetics. The Honda Accord Hybrid gets all-LED tail lamps, 18-inch alloy wheels and broadly-shaped front fascia to name a few.

In terms of the in-car tech available with the sedan, you get support for Android Auto, as well as Apple CarPlay, rear-view parking sensors with camera, electric seats, dual-zone climate control and two screens for driver controls.
