Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party, Vijay Mallya, TV journalists Barkha Dutt and Ravish Kumar. All of these have been victims of a shadowy online group, and looks like it isn’t done yet. This group is Legion, a collective which hacked into the Twitter account and email accounts of these high-profile personalities.

Confidential information was leaked online, and Legion got tons of media coverage and grabbed the public’s attention. And now, a member of this hacker group has spoken up, speaking about their motives, their use of recreational drugs and ominously threatening that "bigger things" are set to come.

A Washington Post reporter managed to get in touch with the hacker, code named Legion Crew (LC), via an encrypted instant messaging platform. Going by the chat between the two, it seems that the hackers might be in their early 20s.

LC didn’t stress on any possible "political motive" behind these attacks. Instead, Legion invariably hunts the pack which, according to LC, has a lot to hide from the public. This is something that the media has been highlighting.

In what seems like a serious threat to digital security, LC also claimed that the group has access to over 40,000 servers in India, with over 1TB of data lying in their coffers. The hacker emphasised how a billionaire like Mallya has kept his confidential details unencrypted in his email.

The scariest part about LC’s ‘confession’ is the claim that "bigger things" are set to come very soon. So, expect many more leaks in the coming days, to wreak havoc in the digital lives of some biggies in India, or even abroad.

LC goes on to express his dislike for living in Delhi, and how he would rather move to Russia – to do more drugs.
