Just a few days back Xiaomi launched the Redmi 4 in India which is currently selling like hot cakes. Now the perfect challenger has entered the arena, the recently launched Yu Yureka Black which has been priced very aggressively at Rs 8,999. Here’s a quick shootout between the two phones vying for the crown of the best budget phone in India.
Design & Display
Both phones feature very ergonomic designs. Where the Xiaomi Redmi 4 sports a matte finish at the back, the Yu Yureka Black has more of a glossy feel to it. Display wise, it is a simple battle of pixels. The full HD 1080p display of the Yu Yureka Black clearly has the upper hand here. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 comes with an HD display that stands at 1280 x 720 pixels. Both the Redmi 4 and Yu Yureka Black come with 5-inch displays that sport 2.5D curved glass.
Performance & Storage
Where the Yu Yureka Black comes with a Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM, the Redmi 4 is powered by a slightly more powerful Snapdragon 435 processor with 3GB RAM. There is plenty of storage space on the Redmi 4 with expandable storage option up to 128GB via microSD card while the Yureka has expandable storage up to 64GB. Both devices sport a fingerprint scanner. The big advantage with the Yu Yureka Black is that it runs on Android 7.0 Nougat while the Redmi supports Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Camera & Battery
The new Yu Yureka Black comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera with selfie flash whereas the Redmi 4 comes with 5-megapixel front snapper and a 13-megapixel rear camera with flash. We can’t say anything about which of the two sports the better camera but we’ll have a shootout soon to decide that.
Moving on, the battery pack on the Redmi 4 is a power house with 4100mAh while the Yureka comes with 3000mAh battery juice. So there is more battery power but lesser megapixels on the Redmi 4.
Which One to Go For?
The million dollar question yet again! Both the Yu Yureka Black and the 32GB variant of the Redmi 4 are priced at Rs 8,999. Both are good phones in this price bracket and carry a rich legacy of having the best portfolio of mid-range and budget phones in the Indian market. It’s tough to call which one is a better buy as at the end of the day you’ll keep swinging from one to the other because both these phones at Rs 8,999 are a steal.
