Chinese company Xiaomi has announced its first smartphone under its new sub-brand Poco. The phone was announced in a tweet by the company’s product head in India Jai Mani and will be available by end of this month.

Pocophone F1 will be the Xiaomi subsidiary's first phone, also becoming the cheapest phone to house a Snapdragon 845 processor. A leaked unboxing video doing the rounds had confirmed the presence of the Snapdragon 845 chipset earlier this month.

The phone gets 6GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Rumours also suggest that it will have a 4,000 mAh battery.

Ditching the glass, Poco favours the polycarbonate for its back body and a vertically-placed dual camera setup at the back. The smartphone also has a notch atop the display and a USB Type-C port for charging duties.

It also has a liquid cooling system to bring down its temperature and prevent overheating, something that’s usually seen on high-end devices, like the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

With the Pocophone, Xiaomi is looking to create a new line of phones that have high-end specifications, but cost less than the current flagships.
