You’ve tried the voice-call support on WhatsApp and there is a good chance that video-calling feature will be available on the popular messaging platform soon.

According to recent reports, WhatsApp is said to have privately tested the video calling feature that supports both the cameras of a smartphone. If and when WhatsApp manages to officially release the video calling feature, the social networking giant will directly compete with Microsoft’s Skype.

The report does not state any timeline for the launch of video-calling on WhatsApp but it’s easy to assume that the roll-out may not be far away from now.

WhatsApp introduced its voice-calling support earlier this year but the feature has failed to work in India due to its reliance on 2G connectivity, whereas it requires atleast 3G Internet speed to work.

Their video-calling option may also end up being an option that can be used mostly when you’re on Wi-Fi network.
