Some interesting questions were put across to Mark, with topics like Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality and 360-degree videos catching his eye. Some folks, who were said to be residing at Mark’s first residence in Palo Alto also managed to rekindle his budding past.

Speaking about AI, Mark highlighted his interest in the area and talked about how Facebook strives to make use of AI to open the world to new possibilities.

We have a blind engineer at Facebook, who is working on feature that lets visually impaired people to watch pictures even without seeing them. Or deaf people can look at video with help of subtitles that get added automatically.

When one of the user asked as to how Facebook is integrating virtual reality (VR) into its platform, Zuckerberg highlighted the evolution of technology which has come all the way from text, to photos, then video and now VR with more things shaping up.

Technology can always do a better job, share what everyone is thinking, which is what VR offers. More than 100,000 people are watching this live. VR will let you capture everything in 360-degree which is now available on FB. The future will get better with VR, where physically be in the same space in future.

He also made the point to explain the difference between 360-degree video and 360-degree photos which is now available on Facebook.

For videos, you need to capture scenes as it happen, and you need multiple cameras for that or professional camera rigs. After that use bunch of maths, use gyroscope to tilt in diff directions. While, video require professional production, 360-degree photos can be created by anyone from their phone.

He also said that Facebook is continually looking to improve the experience of Facebook Live. For him, it is a completely new format that lets people hangout with each other, have an interactive conversation. But that’s not meant to be end of it, as

How cool would it be to pop and come over on the video for 10-seconds to ask your questions? It would be awesome to see you guys on the other side.

Going down the memory lane, Zuckerberg was reminded of his Palo Alto residence, which is where the Wall feature was built.

Answering to a question posed by a user from India, Zuckerberg said that if he had to built Facebook today, he would have never thought of starting with the web. Mobile would have been his first choice of platform for the networking channel.

Entrepreneurs should never think of creating a company, they should have an idea with which they want to change the world.
