Many iPhone users in India pay a hefty sum to own the latest Apple devices, and it’s fair to assume they’re marrying it with affordable data plans.

Vodafone and Airtel come to the rescue of these people with select iPhone plans that not only cater to data and calling needs of the users, but also offer some other benefits, just to prevent them from porting to Reliance Jio probably.

Both Vodafone and Airtel cater to monthly and annual plans respectively, but it’s likely that most iPhone users will consider the value for money factor, apart from the basic needs that you can have with the telco.

Here’s a look at what both these telcos offer and do not offer.

Vodafone Red Plan for iPhone

It’s called the Red iPhone Forever Plan and is priced at Rs 649 which has to be paid monthly. In terms of data, you can avail up to 90GB per month, and the unused sum will be added to your quote for next month. You also get unlimited local and national calling with this plan, something that is not available to all Vodafone users in the country.

Interestingly, this plan can be availed even by an iPhone 5S user, that also includes free access to Vodafone Play and 12 months membership for Amazon Prime also.

This plan gives you the chance to replace and even upgrade to newer iPhone variants, applicable for models which are less than 18 months old. For models older than 18 years, you can only upgrade and repair.

The iPhone program also covers any accidental, physical damage, even if it’s fluid nature. For this, users will be asked to pay Rs 2,000 for damage claims, to bear the cost of any repair.

Airtel’s iPhone Plan

In comparison to Vodafone’s generous monthly plan, Airtel is offering a long-term plan that not only includes data and calling benefits, but also works out as an EMI for the device you’ve just bought, covered in 24 months or 2 years.

Airtel has gone for contract-like model that brings down the spending cost for the user in the short term. Having said that, the user is locked with the operator for the duration of his/her plan.

The plan costs Rs 3,499 and can be available by those buying either the iPhone XR or the iPhone X. It’s called the Airtel iPhone Program, which gives the user unlimited local and national calling, and a total of 100GB data.

Which One To Go For?

Both these telcos are offering quite a lot for its prices, especially the Amazon membership. Having said that, Vodafone seems to be catering to existing as well as new iPhone users in the country, while Apple wants people to buy either of iPhone XR or the iPhone X and that too comes with the condition of locking yourself to Airtel for 2 years.

Vodafone is only asking Rs 649 for every month (exclusive of taxes) but the upgrade/repair offer is likely to work out for most iPhone users. Also, the data rollover is a handy feature, for those who tend to have leftover data every month.
