Biz Stone, one of the three co-founders of Twitter, is returning to the microblogging platform, that he left in 2011. Stone announced his return in an emotional post on Medium, titled ‘What’s Happening with Me?’

While Stone did not get into the specifics of his exact role in the company, he says he will overlook the company's culture.

You might even say the job description includes being Biz stone.

By his own admission, Stone's return to Twitter is "a crazy story" which materialised when the company's CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey – who he credits for lending personality and energy to the company – asked him to rejoin. Dorsey made the request at Twitter’s signature Friday afternoon Tea Time session where Stone was invited as a "special guest".

After Tea Time, we (Jack Dorsey and Biz Stone) spoke privately and Jack told me that he really did  –  he wanted me to come back and work at Twitter. The company I co-founded, the service I co-invented. I was stunned, but I knew the answer.

Stone also writes about Evan Williams’ reaction to his return. “Well, you’re among the best in the world at being Biz Stone,” Stone quoted the third co-founder of Twitter as saying.

Stone's return comes at a time when Twitter has seen the departure of some of its top employees, including that of chief operating officer Adam Bain and chief technology officer Adam Messinger.

Stone’s venture, Jelly – a search engine emphasising on human intervention – was acquired by Pinterst in March this year. He is also listed as a co-founder of Medium.
