Xiaomi Redmi 4
The latest entrant in the budget phone category, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 is selling like hot cake in the online market. The phone comes with a 5-inch HD display and a Snapdragon 435 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. Optics wise, it sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. There is also a great battery back-up on the phone with a 4,100 mAh battery. The starting price is Rs 6,999 for the 2GB/16GB variant and the 4GB/64GB variant is available for Rs 10,999.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4
The Redmi Note 4 ruled 2016 as one of the best selling phones of the year. The phone still holds a strong position on the list of top selling phones in India. It comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display and a full metal design. Running the show is a Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB & 4GB RAM options. Camera combo is a 13 plus 5-megapixel unit. Enough battery juice there with a 4,100mAh non-removable battery.
The Redmi Note 4 is available in three variants – the 2GB RAM/32GB storage for Rs 9,999, 3GB RAM/32GB storage for Rs 10,999 and 4GB RAM/64GB of storage for Rs 12,999.

The Moto G5 Plus is also a very strong contender in the sub-15k segment. It’s a tad small at 5.2 inches but the full HD display looks fabulous. It runs on a Snapdragon 625 processor with multiple RAM variants from 2GB to 4GB. It comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera with a 5-megapixel front snapper. Inside is a 3000mAh battery pack which delivers decent back-up. The phone is available for Rs 14,999 online.

Lenovo Z2 Plus
Another under 15k phone that’s grabbed a lot of eyeballs is the Lenovo Z2 Plus. Initially the phone was launched for Rs 19,999 but is now available for as low as Rs 14,999 online.
The primary feature of the phone is that it runs on a powerful Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB RAM. Camera quality is also very impressive with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front snapper. Good combination. It also comes with a 3,500 mAh battery which is good. The Lenovo Z2 Plus is a compact and powerful phone.

Honor 6x
The only smartphone in this list with a dual-camera setup, the Honor 6x is definitely worth considering if you are looking to buy a phone in this price segment. It comes with a very impressive specs sheet – a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a HiSilicon Kirin 655 chipset and 3 GB and 4 GB variants. It comes with a 12+2-megapixel dual camera on the rear with an 8-megapixel front camera. Its 3,340 mAh battery is well and truly capable of lasting the whole day. The price for the Honor 6x starts at Rs 12,999 in India.
