Hey guys, August 15 is here. It’s India’s 69th Independence Day, and we are all set for the celebrations.

Right?

Wrong!

Did you know that the Government has called for comments or suggestions on Recommendations of Committee on Net Neutrality on MyGov.in? And tomorrow’s the last date for all entries.

This comes after the numerous emails we sent to TRAI earlier.

So you need to log onto MyGov.in, register and leave your comments to save the internet.

Here’s why?

Yes, as always the government and telecom operators choose a day when you’ll be busy with celebrations, and once your hangover will settle down, you’ll be left with an internet that has walled garden, and will cost you a lot.

Net Neutrality as we know it will no longer exist.

So do not forget to take out 5 minutes today and go to MyGov.in.

Yes it’s a little annoying as the website asks you to register first, but then if you want this Independence Day for our beloved Internet, then please leave a comment on the government website.

Reddit already has two templates for you to comment on Net Neutrality.

The First Template

We want Net Neutrality. Telecom Companies should not dictate how we use our data after we pay for it. Support citizens.

  1. 1. We do not want net neutrality to be defined by telecom companies.
  2. 2. We do not want telcos controlling what we access on the internet and you cannot charge differently for different websites.
  3. 3. We want to be able to access anything at any time, without having to pay more for it separately.
  4. 4. We do not want licensing for WhatsApp, Viber or any other app we use.

Second Template

No licensing of apps. No zero rating. No throttling/slowing down of websites/services. Equal access to all sites, apps. This is a must for Digital India.
