OnePlus has announced the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro for the Indian market, with prices starting from Rs 32,999 and Rs 48,999 respectively and will be available both online and offline in the coming days.

Interestingly, the company has been touting the prowess of the Pro version device, but being close to the Rs 50,000 price mark is a big gamble, which could go either way, especially in a market like India.

After all, at these prices, OnePlus is going up against devices like the Apple iPhone XR and the Samsung Galaxy S10e. While people were concerned about the company hiking the price of its regular OnePlus phone, it’ll be intriguing to see if people buy the Pro version, at these prices.

An Israeli firm, NSO Group, that has been accused of supplying spyware for spying on human rights activists and journalists, has now been accused of using a WhatsApp bug to access communications into iPhones and Android phones, The New York Times reported.

According to the NYT report, the spyware has characteristics similar to the technology from NSO Group. “WhatsApp encourages people to upgrade to the latest version of our app, as well as keep their mobile operating system up to date, to protect against potential targeted exploits designed to compromise information stored on mobile devices,” it was quoted by NYT as saying.

Reliance Jio is back with another freebie in 2019. The telco might have started charging for its data services, but it continues to offer some free stuff even today. Which is why users on the Jio Network with Prime membership are getting one year extension free of cost.

This is a follow up to Jio’s similar promise in 2018, when users on its network where able to get data and other benefits with Jio Prime, without having to pay the additional Rs 99 that the telco charged for its version of Prime membership.

But instead of having to follow some process, this year Jio is offering the extension automatically. You can check for the update from the MyJio app, on which you can sign in with your Jio mobile number.

If you are considering buying the iPhone SE, or own the iPhone 6, make note that Apple is reportedly planning to cut iOS update support for these devices in 2019. This is likely to come as a shocker to most of the existing iPhone 5S, SE and 6 users in India and across the world. These devices might not get the iOS 13 update this year.

Considering Apple has been loyal to its fanbase across all series of iPhones, offering them software updates for the longest time, this feels like a move that could disappoint many people.

This possibility was first reported by iPhoneSoft earlier this month, and likely to be confirmed by Apple at the WWDC 2019 keynote on 3 June. The same report suggests that iOS 13 won’t also come to the iPad Mini 2 and iPad Air.
