We all know that Reliance Jio users won’t have to pay for calls that are made to any network in the country. But looks like that unlimited voice-calling benefit carries a certain amount of limitation.
According to a report, all Jio users are allowed to make voice calls which can only last up to 300 minutes, or 5 hours. If you try to speak to someone for more than 5 hours, chances are you might come across some disturbance on your call.
This limit has been put in place so that people don’t misuse the voice-calling benefits on offer from Reliance Jio.
You might be wondering if this issue, is really an issue. The report highlights that the 5 hour limit is applicable only on a single call. You can still talk to multiple sets of friends for more than an hour and still continue to get voice-calling support on Jio network.
You’ll hardly find people talking to one person for such a long time.
This development also comes at a time when people in India are warming up to making calls via apps like WhatsApp or Skype among others. So, it’s hard to see how many of you would actually be bothered that Jio lets you make a free call for up to 5 hours.
But just in case, if any user does end up using his/her 5 hour- free voice call limit on the network, they’d have to top-up their number with a recharge for Rs 149.
While some of you might say that Jio should be informing its users about such limits, yet there’s very little you can complain about, given the features available. In comparison to Jio’s offer, Airtel and Vodafone are also giving free voice calls nowadays, but with certain conditions.
