With Diwali around the corner, Reliance Jio has announced a new plan for its ‘Prime’ consumers. They now stand to get 100 percent cashback for any recharges they make.
Named the ‘Jio Happy Diwali’ offer, the plan offers recharge of Rs 399 for three months, and available to those who are Prime customers with Reliance Jio.
What this means is, every Jio customer who recharges his/her existing Jio number for Rs 399 between 12 and 18 October, stands a chance to get 100 percent cashback, which will be handed out as eight vouchers. These vouchers – each for Rs 50 – can be used for future recharges, according to Jio.
The Diwali offer will be effective from 19 October.
Jio has been facing tough competition from its rivals, Airtel and Vodafone, highlighted by a recent Open Signal report, which ranks Jio’s 4G speed lower than Airtel, Vodafone, and even Idea Cellular.

But, they did get some relief after TRAI decided to cut inter-connectivity charges (IUC) from 14 paise to 6 paise earlier this month.
That apart, Airtel launched its own JioPhone competition by partnering with Karbonn for a low-priced 4G VoLTE smartphone, which will be paired with affordable data plans and free voice calls.

With cashback offers and improving network strength, Jio would be hoping to add more users to its base in the coming months, and increase its overall average revenue per user, which currently stands at less than Rs 150 per month.
