Chinese smartphone maker Oppo on Tuesday launched the latest addition to its F-series called the F9 Pro in India at a price of Rs 23,990. The F9 Pro will go on sale from 31 August and the pre-order will begin on Flipkart from 21 August, the day of the launch.

The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 chipset coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB.

The device houses 3500 mAh battery. The "F9 Pro" is equipped with Google Lens which gives users a faster means to obtain information.

The phone has a ‘water-drop’ notch that only houses the front speaker and the front camera. The tiny notch, paired with a slight chin at the bottom, make the phone as close to being bezel-less as it can.

With its VOOC flash charging, the F9 Pro can charge 2 hours worth of talk time battery in 5 minutes.

This phone is the successor to the Oppo F7 that was launched earlier this year. The F7 did not impress us much but we are expecting the F9 Pro to be a capable phone as the Chinese manufacturer looks to bring in some dramatic changes to the design.

Complimenting its unique front panel, the F9 Pro gets a gradient back panel that has glossy reflective finish, and comes in two colours.

The F9 Pro's screen is a 6.3-inch Ful HD + display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, with 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio (yes, almost bezel-less). The phone gets an IP67 rating which means it will be dust and water resistant.

The F9 Plus is the first phone in the ‘F’ series to have a dual camera setup. The at the back, it sports 16 megapixel and 2 megapixel dual camera unit while on the front, you get a 25 megapixel camera within its water-drop notch.

At this price point, Oppo F9 Pro will fight out with the likes of Honor Play (when it launches in the 6GB RAM variant) and the Nokia 7 Plus.
