Tired of all those ads and unwanted marketing content on your Facebook newsfeed ? If yes, then it’s time for try Nattch, a new mobile only social network that aims to cut the clutter to deliver what it calls a truly ‘distraction-free’ social networking experience.

According to technology portal Techcrunch.com, those who are tired of the endless memes and unwanted videos on their Facebook feeds may find relief on Nattch, which focuses solely on the connection between users and their friends. And it will do so by rejecting what it terms ‘ garbage content’.

Nattch will instead encourage users to share only updates about their actual lives. This mean no cute, funny or interesting stuff you’ve seen or read on the Internet. That stuff is banned by the app. There’s even a report button for users to police others’ postings. All this for a ‘clean’ social network that contains only real stuff relating to people’s lives.

Tech Crunch, quotes Nattch co-founder Mauri Saavedra saying:

After spending a couple of minutes browsing my news feed I start noticing that most of the stories I was looking at were random stories, things that I didn’t choose to see and were irrelevant in my life. For every good story there were like six unrelated stories that I didn’t even care about.

–Mauri Saavedra, Nattch Co-Founder

Interestingly, when Facebook started in 2004, it was pretty much clean than what it’s today. So Nattch is kind of like Facebook when Facebook started. But look what happened to it.

For almost every third post on your timeline, there is an advertisement or suggested content. That is how commercial it has become. It’s pretty much a familiar scenario that you log onto Facebook to wish a friend a happy birthday only to realise that all you have done is watched videos and checked stuff on numerous e-commerce sites whose ads follow you like a puppy, but still haven’t done what you originally signed on to do.

So if you’re discontented with Facebook’s over commercialisation. Nattch will give that bare-bones networking experience you are looking for. However, there are a few riders.

One it’s only available for iOS and Android platforms. There is no desktop browser website for Nattch. Second, you will have to shell out a subscription fee of $1.99 for first two years. Well, as someone has said ’nothing ever comes for free’, not the advertisement free experience of social networking.
