Design & Display

Here, it’s a battle between Iron Man and the Lego Batman. Basically, metal versus plastic. Where the Redmi 4A sports a full metal design, the Moto C Plus is plastic made. Ergonomically, the Moto C Plus is much thicker than the Redmi. Display-wise both sport the same HD display that stands at 5-inch.

Processor & Storage

Where the Redmi 4A runs on the Snapdragon 425 coupled with 2GB, the Moto C Plus runs on a Mediatek processor with 2GB RAM. Not much difference in the performance. No complaints in the storage department from both. The Redmi 4A comes with multiple storage options and is expandable up to 256GB. The Moto C on the other hand comes in a 16GB variant and expandable up to 128GB. The biggest advantage with the Moto C is that it runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is touted to receive regular updates from Moto. The Redmi 4A still runs on Android Marshmallow.

Camera & Battery

Things get interesting here. Can’t pick a winner of the two because both offer some unique features in camera and battery. The Redmi 4A comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. In a way better than Moto C Plus’ 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front shooter. The only advantage with Moto c Plus is that it comes with front flash.

Also battery back-up on Moto C is much superior with a 4000mAh removable battery that supports fast charging. The Redmi 4A comes with just a 3120mAh non-removable battery that doesn’t support fast charge.

Which One to Buy?

Both phones are good. Both brands are fierce competitors in the under Rs 10k price segment, therefore offer good devices. Where the Moto C Plus costs Rs 6,999, the Redmi 4A is available at Rs 5,999. Some advantages with Moto is that you get a better ecosystem, guarantee of regular software updates and also better battery. Although the Redmi 4A is cheaper, it lags behind on availability, purity of OS and battery. So, our bet is on the Moto C Plus.
