Apple plans on launching three new iPhones next year in 2020, one of the most trusted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said on Monday, 17 June, according to 9to5Mac. Kuo also said that the company will launch its 5G iPhones later next year.

The 6.1-inch OLED model, according to Kuo’s analysis will be the successor to the iPhone XR, or whatever this year’s “affordable” iPhone will be called. Only the new 6.7-inch and the 5.4-inch iPhones will be 5G compatible, Kuo’s report said.

The report further quotes Kuo as saying that Apple’s in-house 5G baseband chip will not be ready till 2022, meaning that in the next couple of years Apple will depend on Qualcomm’s chips to connect to 5G networks.

Apple will launch its next generation of iPhones this September, rumoured to resemble the current XS/XS Max line-up in physical appearance. The 2019 phones are largely rumoured to sport a triple-camera set-up.
