If you’re a Windows users then you would be pleased to know that Microsoft has said that you don’t need to eject devices every time by clicking on ‘safely remove hardware’ from the settings on the task bar.

This is a big revelation, something that’s annoyed Windows users for years, while they use pen drives or external storage drives on Windows PC or laptop.

And to make this clear, Windows 10 version 1809 gets a new option called Quick Removal, while the previous Windows versions were using Better Performance as the default option. However, Microsoft wants users to know that using the quick removal option, their pen drive/external drive won’t perform to its full capability.

The option is available only for Windows 10 users, which can be accessed by clicking on the arrow icon on the bottom right of the task bar. Clicking that, you’ll see the option ‘eject mass storage’ which lets users remove their drives without any issues.

Using quick removal as the default option could lower the life of a pen drive or external drive.
