Micromax has launched its first Canvas phone with a near bezel-less display at the price of Rs 9,999 and the phone will be available on Amazon.in via sale on 1 September.
Samsung, LG and Xiaomi are some of the big names who’ve gone bezel-less with their phones over the past year; and now Micromax, after a lull of sorts, hopes to join the bandwagon.
The company has big plans to push itself back in the market, and Micromax CEO Rahul Sharma and Co are hopeful that with devices like Canvas Infinity, they can make a comeback in people’s mind.
The phone comes with 5.7-inch display with 720 pixels resolution, and packs Snapdragon 425 processor with 3GB RAM and expandable storage slot. With its pricing at least, Micromax has bettered LG’s recent announcement of the Q6, which is priced at Rs 14,990 in the country.
This phone from Micromax is being pitched for its 18:9 ratio display (more on that later) but for us, the fact that Micromax has launched a phone with a near bezel-less display for under 10K is a feat alright.
They plan on offering repair or replace service option for this phone, and understandably so. It comes with Android N onboard, but Micromax claims that the Android Oreo will soon make its way to the device.
In terms of cameras, there’s a 13-megapixel snapper at the back and a 16-megapixel shooter on the front. You’re getting a 2900mAh battery on the Canvas Infinity.
