No matter what anyone says, but the use of WiFi, GPS has changed the way we shop, access internet, book tickets and mostly hail cabs. Google has worked out a unique way to get rid of GPS from your phones without losing out on the power to track your location for various purposes.
It’s called Project Tango and was first seen powered on a tablet back in 2015. Google promised us that smartphone will soon be equipped with 3D sensors and technology that goes beyond GPS.
So, how soon can we expect phones to be powerful as well as futuristic? You don’t have to wait for years as Google has finally found an able partner in the form of Lenovo, which will make phones under the Project Tango this summer.
The phone is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor, three cameras which will be used for 3D mapping. This technology can be used for shopping, and browsing through houses in the future with actual dimension and sizes.
However, the China-based company is caught in two minds with the size of the phone; ranging between 6 to 6.5-inch which is expected to be priced around the $500 (Rs 33,000 approx). Lenovo promises to bring the product to its global markets, which hopefully includes India as well.
