Kids from the 90s will fondly remember the popular video game Mario which was later converted into a PC game, before making its way to smartphones as well.

The legendary character can now also be found on Google Maps on 10 March, which is also known as Mario (MarIO) Day. However, users in India have seen the feature on Maps from Monday onwards.

Nintendo seems to have partnered with Google for this fun feature (possibly to market the upcoming Mario Kart mobile game), which is available to both Android as well iOS users across the globe. The feature will be available till the end of this week, adding a twist of nostalgia to your daily navigation needs.

It will turn any ride into a fun trip as users will be shown a Mario Kart on the navigation interface instead of the car icon while using the app, an official statement said.

Most users have been wondering how to enable this feature on their devices. So, we’ve decided to make things simple for you all.

The Mario Kart navigation will only work if you select car mode. You can’t enable it on the two-wheeler mode.

This isn’t the first time that Google has gone out-of-the-box with one of its products. PacMan also made a similar appearance on Maps recently, while Google Doodle also turns into games every now and then.
