Google managed to upstage Android O by revealing the Android Go at the keynote. Android Go has been made to run on entry-level devices with up to 1GB RAM, which gives Google the best chance to cater to markets like India. They’ve already rolled out YouTube Go earlier, and more Google apps will follow suit in the coming months.

In addition to that, we already have a lot of light apps like Facebook, Twitter to begin with. Google didn’t get the best out of Android One, but with Android Go, they just might get the right push, only if they find the right set of mobile partners.

iPhone users are now spoilt for choice when it comes to using voice assistants on their device. Not only do they have Siri, but Google’s giving them the chance to use Google Assistant on iOS as well.

This might not please the folks at the Cupertino, but as a user, I don’t think many are complaining. Also, this is the second time when Google has felt confident enough to enter Apple territory, something they had done with Google Maps before.

With Google Lens, the true use of deep learning was seen in full force. Now that cameras on smartphone are becoming potent, Google has decided to change the game a bit by incorporating artificial intelligence in its software.

Simply put, Google has added a feature that tells you which flower is in front of you, or which building is the camera focused on right now.

Android apps are never safe, but Google wants to change that with Google Play Protect. This is a tool similar to the Windows Defender running on Windows 10 devices.

Probably for the first time ever, there has been a Google I/O keynote where the name of the new Android flavour wasn’t announced. Instead of that, Google showcased what’s new with Android O and announced that Android O Beta is out for developers.

Developers have been promised that this Android version will offer faster boot time, and let them control app usage in the background.
